This year we did Grayson's birth announcements on www.shutterfly.com. Since we have our little man I decided to do our holiday cards through them as well this year. They have offered 50 free cards to bloggers this year if you post about their holiday cards.......awesome deal!

I am so excited for Christmas this year. I can't wait to spend it with our new little family. I love seeing the decorations out in the stores. I'm going to have to get Jeff to get my decorations out. I hope I can find the time to put them up while I'm home with Grayson. But, he definitely is a full time job. I will have to do a little at a time.

Meet our little man! We have waited 3 long years to be a parent. I had no idea how much you could love someone until we saw him for the first time. Jeff and I both can't believe he is our baby. I can't wait to spend the holidays with our new little family. Grayson is 3 weeks old. They say every day gets better and that is definitely true. We are working on getting on a schedule. Easier said than done. But, just thankful he is healthy!

The Shot

Wow! What a 3 day weekend! We had a fish fry Saturday night. We had so much fun. I haven't laughed like that in a long time. It is so nice to get everyone together. I gave myself my first shot tonight. I just took a deep breath and went for it. I didn't think it was bad. I might just be a little nurse after these hormones. Anyone need a shot? I do not want to go back to work tomorrow. I would love to have a few more days. I am so addicted to Twilight. I've already read the first book. I'm reading New Moon now. Of course, I had to rent the movie as soon as I finished the book. I liked the movie, but it wasn't as detailed as the book. I think I will be sad when the books end. I will have to find something else to read.

Why does my husband have to be so smart? Makes me sick!

The Infertility Journey

The journey of infertility has been crazy! I had exploratory surgery last week. They didn't find anything abnormal. I had mixed feelings about the results. I'm happy I'm okay, but part of me wanted them to find something. I just want answers on why I can't seem to get pregnant. I don't know if I will ever have an answer to this question. I'm finally feeling good. We decided this week to start hormone injections. I almost passed out when I found out it's going to cost me $1400. Of course, insurance doesn't pay for them. BIG SHOCKER! I will have to give myself a shot every day for a month. My husband thought he was going to get to give them to me. I can tell you the gleam in his eyes scared me. LOL But, I can do it myself since I can to the injections in my stomach. I can't wait to see what kind of crazed lunatic I will become on hormones. When I took Clomid, I had hot flashes as if I was experiencing menopause. I guess we will see. I have a calendar, but I'm still a nervous wreck about keeping track. Going through infertility treatments is like a second job. I pray this will work this time. I'm so thankful to have a friend who has experienced this difficult situation. She answers all of my questions. Keep us in your prayers!

OTS - I finally gave in and am reading Twilight. I can't wait to see if it is as good as everyone tells me.

Bad Bad Blogger

I have been a horrible blogger. I have to admit I've been on facebook way too much. Jeff and I are now seeing a fertility specialist at Baylor. We just started seeing him and are going through the testing phase. I'm hoping we will get to meet with the doctor this week to go over our options. I really like him!
We worked on our master bedroom this weekend. As most of you know, we are remodeling our house. I've posted some pics of the before and after of the windows.

Yah! Deer Season

Well, for any of you married to hunters, you know it is that time of year. My father is a hunter. I always loved this time of year. Because my mom and I would do some serious shopping while my dad was gone. Jeff is a hunter and on my family lease now. I know it sounds awful, but I love when he goes to the lease for the weekend. Jeff was gone this past weekend and will be gone the next 2 weekends. Some of my friends asked me if it made me mad he went to the lease so much. I just laughed and informed them quickly I love it. As many of you know, once you are married there is not a lot of alone or me time. The beauty of the lease is it gives me time. And a lot of weekends my mom comes up to spend quality mother/daughter time while the men are away. I love spending time with Jeff. But, I don't mind a quiet weekend of either shopping or staying in my PJs all day with a good book.

Marriage Matters Now

Jeff and I went to a marriage conference this weekend with my parents. When my dad first called and asked if we wanted to go I was kind of apprehensive. Of course, my first question to my dad was are you trying to tell me something. ha ha But, the seminar was at their church and was very good. If you ever get a chance to attend a Steve and Debbie Wilson seminar you should definitely do it. We both learned a lot about how to keep a marriage great. And I have to say the best moment for me of the conference was when Steve informed the guys "honking and squeezing your wife" does not make them want to get romantic. ha ha I along with the other women had to give an AMEN on that statement. Also, Kevin and Krisi Cole attended so we got to spend time with them. Yesterday we went to Brandon and Micah's for dinner. And I have to tell you Kooper King and Davis Wright are about the cutest things. Davis had his tickle snake out and was tickling everyone including himself. He was hilarious! It was an all around great weekend!

New Job and No Tax

I was recently promoted and tomorrow is the first day of my new job. I am very excited! I made the mistake of getting out this weekend to do some shopping. I had no idea it was no tax weekend. I had to constantly tell myself to have patience all day. But, for the first time in 4 years I get to dress like a girl at work. I feel like a kid anxious for the first day of school so I can wear my new clothes.
Jeff and Jason went to the TTH extravaganza this Saturday. Jeff got to hear one of his professors from college speak. Jason was excited because he got to meet Jay Novacek. I think Jeff had to drag him away.
Unfortunately, we didn't get pregnant last month. I will start my 3rd cycle of Clomid tomorrow. This will be my last cycle and if we don't get pregnant, we will take a month off and re-evaluate our next steps. Please keep us in your prayers as we try to conceive.

Chuck E Cheese is not only for kids!

My family and I went to Chuck E Cheese today. My brother's girldfriend's daughter (what a mouth full) had a birthday party. My family was invited. I had no idea what to expect other than screaming kids. I wasn't sure how good of a time we would have since we don't have any children. Of course, we did see a few kids lying on the floor throwing temper tantrums (no tears). But, Jeff and I decided to buy some tokens and join in the fun. As you can see, it turned out we had more fun than the kids. My dad and Jeff decided to become NBA players and compete against each other. My mom and I decided we would play skee ball. We played 50 tokens and had a blast. We won a total of 197 tickets. We had an extremely hard time turning down the spider ring with our tickets. ha ha Jeff decided to give them to the birthday girl so she can pick out someting for herself. The moral of this story is Chuck E Cheese is still fun at any age!

Thank Goodness for Friends

Well, nothing like having a big hole in your house. Jeff and Brandon worked this weekend on our house. We took out a window and added a door to the backyard. I don't know what we would have done without Brandon's help. Of course, I went to Ashmore acres to swim with Micah and Kooper. I figured the best help a wife could give would be to stay out of the way. ha ha I'm so thankful we have such wonderful friends.

The Money Pit

We are remodeling our house built in 1948. We have completed the two spare bedrooms over the last year. We are currently working on the master bedroom. The pictures above are the before pictures of the room. We did a little demo before I took the pictures. Typically we work on the house on the weekends.

You know as a little girl all you dream of is being a mommy. While the little boys are playing with cars, we are already playing mother to our dolls as soon as we can say baby! Jeff and I started trying to get pregnant as soon as we said "I do." I had my whole life mapped out and assumed I would get pregnant the first month of trying (I mean realistic right!). Well, we are going on month number 8. And everyone who knows me, would agree patience isn't one of my virtues. I visited my OB/GYN a couple of months ago and began fertility testing. Jeff was the first to be tested. I have to admit I took some small satisfaction in knowing he finally had to be poked and prodded as us ladies do every year. Fortunately, his results came back normal. I had a HSG (checks to make sure my fallopian tubes weren't blocked) and it was normal. So they tested my progesterone and it seems I don't ovulate on my own. I began my first round of Clomid last month. I had heard so many horrors stories of the med's side effects. I was very nervous. But, it effected me differently and made me a crying mess with hot flashes. I mean sexy right! Well, the clomid worked and I ovulated last month, but didn't conceive. I'm on month 2 of Clomid and am experiencing the "irritable moods." I love how they call it "irritable moods." I mean if you call acting like a complete psycho an irritable mood. You know the slogan 0-3 seconds to b****. I need a shirt saying no seconds needed to be a b**** on Clomid. Everyday as an infertility couple means you're peeing on a stick, having sonograms, charting your lovemaking or having blood drawn. I love how everyone says to relax. But, hopefully our prayers will be answered soon and we will be blessed with a baby. I have to constantly remind myself my life is not on my life plan, but on God's life plan for me.
